The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday edition that RBC Capital Markets analyst Paul Treiber is sticking with his "buy" recommendation and $155 share target for CGI. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $148.71. Given CGI's job postings continue to decline, Mr. Treiber expects its organic growth to see further normalization. Mr. Treiber says in a note: "In total, job postings at these 31 IT services companies rose 8 per cent quarter-over-quarter, with year-over-year growth improving to negative 33 per cent from negative 46 per cent in the previous quarter. While CGI's job postings are softer than the aggregate for peers, CGI ranks at the midpoint of these companies. CGI's year-over-year growth ranks as the 12th highest, while sequential growth ranks as the 21st highest. ... We believe that CGI's organic growth is likely to remain in the mid-single digit range going forward; we forecast 5-per-cent organic growth Q4/FY23, down from recent highs (peak of 8.6 per cent Q2/FY23), though above CGI's five-year average (2 per cent)." Mr. Treiber adds that CGI may be "incrementally more conservative on spending, in light of macro uncertainty."
