GGX GOLD CORP. ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF GARY LEWIS AS DIRECTOR
GGX Gold Corp. has appointed Gary Lewis, of Grand Falls-Windsor, Nfld., as a director of the company, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
Mr. Lewis (CET) has over 40 years of experience in prospecting, mineral exploration and project development in Newfoundland, and has been a driving force in exploration throughout the Exploits subzone. In 2000, he introduced Rubicon Minerals to the mineral potential of the area, resulting in numerous gold discoveries. In 2004, he directed VVC Exploration efforts in the zone and the acquisition of the dormant Beaver Brook antimony mine, resulting in its reactivation. In 2008, as a founding member of Search Minerals/Alterra Resources, he discovered a world-class critical rare earth metals district in Labrador. In 2012, Mr. Lewis received the Prospect of the Year award, while Search Minerals received the Developer of the Year award from the CIM Newfoundland Branch for this discovery. In 2016 to 2017, Mr. Lewis introduced the founding members of New Found Gold to the mineral potential of the Appleton linear and Jonathan's Pond linear, as well as the structural significance of the geology between the Grub line and the Dog Bay line. He was also the first to identify the structural significance of the Gander Lake sigmoidal structure and the related stacked sigmoidal structures in the area.
More recently, Mr. Lewis was one of the key contributors to assembling land interests in the Rambler area of Newfoundland into a package that was sold to FireFly Metals Ltd.
