Globe says Finning International maintained at "buy"

2023-10-03 08:02 ET - In the News

The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that Canaccord analyst Yuri Lynk has reiterated his "buy" call on Finning International. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Lynk gave his share target a $3 boost to $51. Analysts on average target the shares at $48.56. Mr. Lynk says in a note: "We are reiterating our 'buy' rating on Finning and increasing our one-year target price to $51 after attending its Investor Day on Sept. 26, 2023, in Antofagasta, Chile. In our view, Finning shares are unduly inexpensive as investors heavily discount the company's ability to maintain its record TTM [trailing 12 months] through Q2/2023 EPS of $3.75. Our above-consensus 2024 EPS estimate implies 8-per-cent year-over-year growth to $4.09, which we see increasing 11 per cent year-over-year in 2025 on continued product support growth and operating leverage. On our estimates, Finning trades at just 9.8 times 2024 estimated EPS and 8.8 times 2025E EPS. CAT, Komatsu and Toromont trade at 13.8 times 2024E on average." The Globe reported on Feb. 11, 2022, that Mr. Lynk continued to rate Finning "buy." It was then worth $38.28. The Globe reported on July 26, 2023, that RBC rated Finning "outperform" when it was worth $44.48.
