The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 13, edition that TD Cowen analyst Craig Hutchison has reiterated his "hold" recommendation for First Quantum Minerals. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Hutchison elevated his share target by a loonie to $42. Analysts on average target the units at $42.33. Mr. Hutchison says in a note: "Q4 results were a bit lighter than expected, but with production and guidance prereleased, there were no major surprises in the quarter. The company took further steps post quarter to bolster its balance sheet as it awaits sanction of Cobre stockpile reprocessing. We remain 'hold,' but do flag significant share price upside remains if the company can a secure a reasonable deal on a Cobre restart." The Globe reported on Sept. 30 that Mr. Hutchison continued to rate First Quantum "hold." It was then worth $31.56. The Globe reported on Oct. 15 that Scotia Capital analysts continued to rate First Quantum "sector perform." The shares could then be had for $32.97. The Globe reported on Jan. 27 that Desjardins Securities analyst Bryce Adams was keeping his "hold" call on First Quantum Minerals intact. It was then worth $41.91.
