The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 17, edition that BMO Capital Markets analyst Jackie Przybylowski has reaffirmed her "outperform" recommendation for First Quantum Minerals. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Ms. Przybylowski shaved her share target by a loonie to $17. Analysts on average target the shares at $19.49. Ms. Przybylowski says in a note: "First Quantum's Q4/23 production update and forward-looking guidance is not a resolution to the ongoing challenges faced by the company, but it does continue to highlight the numerous options for cash preservation or opportunities to raise capital. This release doesn't have all the answers yet -- and that could be modestly disappointing to the market -- but we continue to believe that First Quantum will manage through this difficult situation." The Globe reported on Sept. 8 that Ms. Przybylowski boosted First Quantum to "outperform" from "market perform." The shares were then worth $34.57. The Globe reported on Jan. 11 that Citi analyst Alexander Hacking had reaffirmed his "neutral" recommendation for First Quantum. The shares could then be had for $12.54.
