The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Sam Crittenden's recommendation for First Quantum Minerals has fallen to "sector perform" from "outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Crittenden gave his share target a $4 trim to $38. Analysts on average target the shares at $36.02. The Globe says Mr. Crittenden believes First Quantum's risk-reward proposition for investors "feels balanced." Mr. Crittenden says in a note: "We are downgrading First Quantum as it is trading inline with peers, FCF is limited next year, and we see risks around 2024 guidance and potential headline risks around the Panama election next May. At the same time we continue to see strong leverage to copper, production growth starting in 2025, and takeout potential." The Globe reported on May 20 that Stifel analyst Alex Terentiew rated First Quantum "buy." It was then worth $31.67. The Globe reported on July 7 that Mr. Crittenden had reaffirmed his "outperform" call. The shares were then worth $31.84. The Globe reported on Sept. 8 that BMO's Jackie Przybylowski boosted First Quantum to "outperform" from "market perform." The shares were then worth $34.57.
