The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, March 14, edition that CIBC World Markets analyst Nik Priebe boosted his share target for Fairfax Financial Holdings to $2,000 (Canadian) from $1,700 (Canadian). The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Priebe continues to rate Fairfax "outperformer." Mr. Preibe says in a note: "We have reviewed Fairfax's full annual report and are updating our estimates and price target. Our interpretation of Q4 results does not change, but we have increased our 2023 EPS estimate primarily reflecting YTD momentum in global equity markets and an expected positive mark-to-market adjustment on the total return swaps on Fairfax shares (given the 22 per cent increase YTD)." He has an "outperformer" rating on Fairfax. The average Street target is now $1,794 (U.S.). The Globe reported on July 26 Mr. Priebe had reaffirmed his "outperformer" recommendation for Fairfax. The shares were then worth $1,023.27 (Canadian). The Globe reported on Feb. 21 that RBC Capital Markets analyst Scott Heleniak was sticking with his "outperform" recommendation for Fairfax. The shares were then going for $1,361.73 (Canadian).
