The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Jan. 24, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Chris MacCulloch rates Enerplus "buy." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. MacCulloch says Enerplus is one of his top picks. Mr. MacCulloch gave his share target a $3 trim to $20. Analysts on average target the shares at $20.80. Mr. MacCulloch says in a note: "We believe it offers one of the best value propositions in the Canadian energy sector, currently trading at three times 2025 DACF [debt-adjusted cash flow] multiple (vs peers at four times) while providing a 12.2-per-cent FCF yield at strip prices. We also believe the company could be a beneficiary of booming U.S. M&A activity, either as a consolidator within North Dakota or as a potential target." The Globe reported on Nov. 7 that RBC Capital analyst Greg Pardy had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Enerplus. In the item, Mr. Pardy said Enerplus was still his "favourite intermediate producer." Enerplus shares could then be had for $22.37. The Globe reported on Dec. 7 that Mr. MacCulloch continued to rate Enerplus "buy." The shares could then be had for $20.15.
