The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Feb. 28, edition that Raymond James analyst David Quezada is keeping his "outperform" recommendation for Emera intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Quezada gave his share target a $4 trim to $55. Analysts on average target the shares at $53.75. Mr. Quezada says in a note: "We maintain our constructive stance on Emera -- a function of the company's premium regulated footprint, discounted valuation, and strong rate base growth. While we acknowledge the risk posed by Emera's credit metrics, we continue to believe management has a viable path to bringing them onside in 2024 with increased clarity in coming months. We see potential for a multiple rerating beyond this. We have reduced our target price reflecting revised 2024 earnings estimates." The Globe reported on Oct. 20, 2022, that Mr. Quezada said Emera was trading at a "compelling" level. He upgraded Emera to "outperform" from "market perform." The shares could then be had for $51.68. The Globe reported on Jan. 25, 2024, that Scotia Capital analysts said Emera was "overly discounted." It was then worth $48.94. The Globe reported on Jan. 31, 2024, that RBC kept Emera at "outperform." It was then worth $48.80.
