The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, June 7, edition that Credit Suisse analyst Fahad Tariq has reaffirmed his "underperform" recommendation for Eldorado Gold. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Tariq cut his share target back by a buck to $10 (all figures U.S.). Mr. Leeder says Mr. Tariq made his price tweak in response to recent equity raises that resulted in the addition of 16.7 million shares for total proceeds of $216.5-million. The Globe says Mr. Tariq lowered his 2023 earnings per share forecast for Eldorado Gold to 31 cents from 43 cents. Mr. Tariq says in a note: "We see limited production growth over the next few years (i.e., ex-Skouries). With Skouries, we are cautious on potential capex inflation, as we have seen with other recent major projects in our coverage. On a positive note, Eldorado has a strong balance sheet, especially relative to a few years ago, and the company has successfully finalized a financing package for Skouries. In addition, the stock has torque to gold prices, which could move higher through the year." The Globe reported on April 18 that CIBC World Market analysts rated Eldorado Gold "outperformer." It was then worth $11.31.
