The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that despite inflation and interest rate hikes, analysts at National Bank Financial view metal prices positively, citing strong central bank buying, demand from China and India, a weakening greenback due to high debt levels, and geopolitical uncertainty. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that National Bank analysts upgraded their price forecasts for all metals and foreign exchange rates. The analysts updated their long-term prices to reflect ongoing inflationary pressures and anticipated cost increases as mining companies optimize mine planning in a high commodity price environment. National analyst Alex Terentiew has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Endeavour Silver. He gave his share target a $1 boost to $25. Analysts on average target the shares at 22.20. Mr. Terentiew says in a note: "We continue to view Endeavour Silver as our Top Pick within the silver coverage universe due to its relatively discounted valuation, peer-leading growth profile as grades at Terronera increase and costs decrease, Kolpa undergoes a small expansion, and the gold and silver hedges diminish (gold ends June 2027, with silver ended June 2026)."
