Ecolomondo starts commissioning of processing line

2025-06-25 18:38 ET - News Release

Mr. J.-F. Labbe reports

ECOLOMONDO UPDATES ON TESTING OF ITS RECOVERED CARBON BLACK PROCESSING LINE

Testing of Ecolomondo Corp.'s entire recovered carbon black processing line is progressing according to expectations.

The company recently announced the successful commissioning of its new milling equipment and the start of commissioning of the entire recovered carbon black processing line. Achieving the commissioning of the processing line is expected to lead to increased productivity at the Hawkesbury facility, setting the stage for final ramp-up.

In preparing the rCB processing line for final commissioning, Ecolomondo's technical team has been working systematically to check and start every piece of equipment in the rCB processing line's downstream equipment -- that is, pelletizer, dryer, chiller, compressor, conveying and bagging systems.

These developments have led to several days of successful uninterrupted production runs that produced approximately 12 metric tonnes of quality rCB, a company first.

During the start-up of the processing line by the technical team, the company's production teams focused their efforts on maintaining efficient production and full stack monitoring to produce consistent pellet size and hardness, moisture content of less than 1 per cent, and particle size distribution of D97 at 15 microns.

Once fully operational, the Hawkesbury thermal decomposition technology facility is expected to process approximately 1.3 million to 1.5 million scrap tires per year and produce on average approximately 4,000 MT of recovered carbon black, 5,000 MT of pyrolysis oil, 2,000 MT of steel and 1,200 MT of process gas.
