Ecolomondo increases Hawkesbury batch payload to 10K lb

2023-05-26 09:32 ET - News Release

Mr. Eliot Sorella reports

ECOLOMONDO ANNOUNCES THAT IT REACHED A NEW MILESTONE IN ITS RAMP-UP PHASE

Ecolomondo Corp. has reached a new milestone in its ramp-up phase.

The company has focused its efforts on the beginning of commercial production at its Hawkesbury TDP facility. After performing initial test batches, the company increased its batch payload to 10,000 pounds during another successful batch completed on May 24, 2023.

This batch size of 10,000 pounds used 564 end-of-life tires (ELTs) to produce 3,800 pounds of carbon black, 15 barrels of oil and 1,150 pounds of process gas and including 1,287 pounds of steel and 564 pounds of fibre that were extracted from the scrap tires during the shredding stage. This batch is expected to generate gross revenues of $5,853, including tipping fees collected for processing ELTs.

Previously in this year, the company's technical teams performed numerous test runs using both reactors 1 and 2. These test runs allowed them to acquire the necessary knowledge and experience to improve process efficiency and validate the capacity of burners, the evacuation system and all thermal apparatus.

Once reactor payloads have successfully achieved the 15,000-pound threshold, the company expects to start with the final stage of its ramp-up phase, starting with one batch per day, followed by two batches per day and ending with three batches per day for each of the two reactors.

While management is optimistic of its schedule, it cautions that further ramp-up testing may bring to light certain adjustments that may require adjustments from time to time.
