Decade drills 9.15 m of 8.7 g/t Au at Red Cliff

2023-07-18 09:31 ET - News Release

Mr. Ed Kruchkowski reports

DECADE ANNOUNCES RESULTS FOR RED CLIFF DRILLING

Decade Resources Ltd. has started a drill program on the Red Cliff property. The property is located 20 km north of Stewart BC in the "Golden Triangle" region of the Skeena Mining Division.

The property was a copper producer in the early 1900's and had a railway that transported ore to tidewater and then a copper smelter in Prince Rupert. It has a greater than 1.2 km zone of alteration and mineralization that is in excess of 40m wide. The Red Cliff Zone at the south end of the mineralization zone on the property was historically developed with 2,385 meters of underground workings on five levels from four portals over a vertical distance of several hundred meters along 50m of strike. Limited copper-gold production was reported in 1910-1912 and 1973. From 1910 -1912, production from the Red Cliff Zone amounted to approximately 1,136 tonnes at a grade estimated to average 5 percent copper (BC Minfile).

The Lower Montrose Zone occurs approximately 1,000 meters to the north of the Red Cliff Zones within Lydden Creek canyon consisting of silicified andesite associated with shearing, with pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite mineralization occurring in quartz veins and stockworks. This zone has been developed along two short adits in a very steep part of the property. During 1939-41, a total of 59 tonnes was mined, averaging 84.4 grams/tonne gold, 101 grams/tonne silver, 0.91 percent copper, 3.5 percent lead and 4.41 percent zinc (BC Minfile). The recent drilling tested the Upper Montrose zone, 200 meters further north. Drilling by the Company in 2012 has indicated that mineralization extends to at least 600m below surface in the area of the Upper Montrose.

In the first 12 holes of the 2023 program, analysis has shown elevated copper and zinc values associated with Upper Montrose zone. A total of 23 short holes were completed along 125m of strike length testing for structure, mineralization plunge and values in a previously sparsely tested area. DDH 1-21 were off 5 pads at the highest elevation of the Upper Montrose. Pad 1 was located in an overburden covered area and drill location was inadvertently on top of the zone and failed to intersect it even though deeper drilling from 150m away indicated the presence at depth. Pad 2 was 40m north and farther west of the Upper Montrose as indicated by intersections. Assay results for the first 12 holes are as follows:

Copper values were also present in holes 6 through 12, averaging 0.12% and ranging from 0.5 ppm to as high as 2.1% in MON-2023-09. Work is continuing in order to better understand the distribution of high-grade gold values within the mineralized zone. Decade and its joint venture partner MTB and are jointly designing a drill program that involves one deep hole below Upper Montrose/Lower Montrose as well as testing 2 parallel mineralized zones south of the Red Cliff workings which have never been tested.

Further assay results will be released when received.

The assays were performed by ALS Canada Ltd in Vancouver BC.

Ed Kruchkowski, P. Geo., a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 is responsible for the contents of this release. E. Kruchkowski is not independent of Decade as he is the president of the Company.
