Data Communications' Octacom opens processing centre

2026-09-23 11:03 ET - News Release

Mr. Richard Kellam reports

OCTACOM, A DIVISION OF DATA COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT, EXPANDS U.S. OPERATIONS WITH NEW CHICAGO-AREA INTELLIGENT DOCUMENT PROCESSING CENTER

The Octacom division of Data Communications Management Corp. has opened a new United States intelligent document processing (IDP) and digitization centre, located within Data Communications' existing secure print, processing and warehousing facility in suburban Chicago.

The new processing centre expands Octacom's U.S. operating capacity to serve its growing roster of U.S.-based clients, including those onboarded since Data Communications' acquisition of Octacom in July, 2026, and supports the broader expansion of Octacom's IDP go-to-market strategy and business development pipeline.

"Establishing this U.S. processing center strengthens the platform from which Octacom serves the critical U.S. market and significantly expands the roster of clients we can serve with our innovative IDP solutions," said Richard Kellam, president and chief executive officer of Data Communications. "Locating this center within DCM's existing Chicago area footprint accelerates the growth of our U.S. business and provides us with meaningful operating leverage."

The U.S. IDP market represents a significant growth opportunity with the market expected to expand from approximately $593-million (U.S.) in 2025 to $5.8-billion (U.S.) by 2033, representing a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.6 per cent. Market growth is being driven by increasing demand for the integration of generative AI (artificial intelligence) into IDP solutions as businesses seek to improve operational efficiency, automate document-intensive processes and strengthen regulatory compliance.

Octacom is targeting growth in the U.S. across a broad range of document-intensive industries, including financial services, transportation and logistics, and lotteries and gaming. The new center enables Octacom to deliver its IDP and digitization solutions to U.S. clients while leveraging Data Communications' existing infrastructure, significantly reducing the capital investment required to expand its U.S. operations.

The U.S. expansion builds on the strategic rationale for Data Communications' acquisition of Octacom, strengthening Data Communications' position in the high-growth IDP market and expanding its portfolio of technology-enabled services and solutions. Octacom combines its secure processing footprint, AI-enabled data capture, automated workflows and collaborative process design to help organizations digitize document-intensive operations, reduce costs, improve processing accuracy, strengthen compliance and unlock productivity gains.

"We are excited to be expanding our on-the-ground capabilities in the U.S. market and building on the client momentum we have already established since becoming part of DCM," said Lee Berger, managing director, Octacom. "We look forward to continuing to expand our IDP offering entering additional markets where we can leverage DCM's existing infrastructure, customer relationships and operating footprint."
