The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Aug. 12, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Paul Treiber has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Constellation Software. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Treiber gave his share target a $300 boost to $6,000. Analysts on average target the shares at $5,577. Mr. Treiber thinks Constellation's better-than-anticipated second quarter results reveal "the strength" of its operating model. Mr. Treiber says in a note: "Amidst concerns regarding a slower pace of acquisitions, Constellation surprised to the upside, with much stronger organic growth and profitability. As a result, Q2 adjusted EBITDA and FCF were well above expectations. We believe the upside stems from Constellation's operating model and the reduced drag from transforming acquisitions." After the bell on Friday, Constellation posted revenue of $2.84-billion, up 15 per cent and matching Mr. Treiber's estimates while in-line with the consensus ($2.87-billion) "as stronger organic growth offset lower contribution from acquisitions." He adds, "Profitability surprised to the upside with adjusted earnings per share of $24.02 topping projections."
