The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, April 4, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Bryce Adams has a positive long-term outlook for copper prices, viewing the red metal as a key input for global decarbonization efforts, data centre demand and electric vehicle use. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Adams, in a research report released Friday, commenced coverage on Capstone Copper with a "buy" recommendation and a $12 share target. Analysts on average target the shares at $12.22. Mr. Adams says in a note: "Capstone is our preferred copper equity for its near- and long-term growth options, above-average leverage to copper prices, strong management team and takeout potential. Key to share price appreciation over the near term is continued success at its MVDP ramp-up and expansion to 45ktpd." The Globe reported on Nov. 29 that Paradigm Capital analyst Jeff Woolley continued to rate Capstone Copper "buy." It was then worth $9.43. The Globe reported on Jan. 23 and Feb. 4 that National Bank analysts Shane Nagle and Rabi Nizami were keeping their "outperform" call for Capstone Copper intact. The shares could then be had for $8.25 and $8.34.
