The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Feb. 1, edition that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Walter Spracklin has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Canadian Pacific Kansas City. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Spracklin lowered his Street-high share target by $1 to $127. Analysts on average target the shares at $115.43. Mr. Spracklin says in a note: "Net-net, we continue to expect Canadian Pacific Kansas City to outperform peers on a volume basis (despite lower guidance) and the company to benefit from both a cyclical upturn (if it occurs) and an idiosyncratic one (based on the integration of KCS). ... While our target multiple of 21.5 times is unchanged, our price target decreases on our lower 2026 EPS estimate of $6.35 (previously $6.41). Our target multiple represents a premium to peers, reflecting the power of CPKC's operating model and compelling opportunity related to the KCS integration." The Globe reported on Aug. 1 and Sept. 20 that Mr. Spracklin continued to rate CPKC "outperform." The shares could then be had for $108.50 and $105.32. The Globe reported on Jan. 19 that Desjardins Securities analyst Benoit Poirier rated CPKC "buy." The shares could then be had for $104.22.
