The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, June 30, edition that ATB Capital Markets analyst Chris Murray has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Canadian Pacific Kansas City. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Murray gave his share target a $5 trim to $120. Analysts on average target the shares at $118.34. Mr. Murray tweaked his share target following CPKC's investor day on Wednesday which included the release of 2023 guidance as well as its 2024-2028 financial targets. Mr. Murray says in a note: "While 2023 guidance was softer-than-expected, CPKC is targeting a doubling of adjusted EPS or about 15 per cent EPS growth (CAGR) from 2024 to 2028, driven by the realization of synergies as it leverages its expanded network reach, differentiated offering and proven operational capabilities. Management sees a significant opportunity to unlock revenue synergies well beyond the initial three-year target, reflecting its ability to better connect several origination/destination markets through its single-line service." The Globe reported on June 23 that Scotia Capital analyst Konark Gupta had reaffirmed his "sector perform" call on CPKC when it could be had for $106.13.
