The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, March 6, edition that Stifel analyst Michael Dunn has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Canadian Natural Resources. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Dunn jacked his share target up by $10 to $110. Analysts on average target the shares at $99.04. Mr. Dunn says in a note: "Canadian Natural Resources' regular dividend yield is well above average, even though it has by far the longest proved developed reserve life, and we'd argue a better than average balance sheet considering its low decline rate and relatively low sustaining capital requirement. We continue to consider the company the gold standard amongst the largest North American domiciled oil producers, based on a very long track record of value creation, and an enviable go-forward outlook. ... The list of major global oil and gas companies with long-term track records of value creation rivaling Canadian Natural is scarce to zero. ... The company has raised its dividend for 24 consecutive years, and recently shifted to targeting the return of 100 per cent of its FCF to shareholders." The Globe reported on Dec. 19 that Mr. Dunn continued to rate Canadian Natural "buy" when it was worth $84.82.
