The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Jan. 16, edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Aravinda Galappatthige has reiterated his "sell" recommendation for Corus Entertainment. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Galappatthige boosted his share target by 15 cents to 65 cents. Analysts on average target the shares at a lofty $1.58. Mr. Galappatthige says in a note: "We believe the Q1 result, although soft, reflected a degree of stability. First, the TV ad declines remained within management guidance, and perhaps more importantly, the Q2 TV ad outlook was in line with our expectations and seemingly the Street as well. The sharp pullback in programming costs also helped profitability, although this is likely to be short-lived given new content releases are likely to ramp through Q3/24." The Globe reported on March 8 that Mr. Galappatthige continued to rate Corus Entertainment "hold." The shares could then be had for $1.88. The Globe reported on Dec. 21 that CIBC World Markets analyst Scott Fletcher had reaffirmed his "neutral" rating for Corus Entertainment. In the item, Mr. Fletcher said he was sticking to the sidelines of Corus. The shares could then be had for 72 cents.
