The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 2, edition that Scotia Capital analyst Maher Yaghi reduced his Cineplex share target to $11 from $11.75, while keeping a "sector outperform" recommendation. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that analysts on average target the shares at $12.96. Mr. Yaghi says in a note: "As a result of a general slowdown in box office attendance due to a pushed out movie release schedule as well as accounting dynamics related to the sale of P1AG, we are updating our estimates for Q4 as well as slightly adjusting some estimates for 2024. Overall FCF generation in 2024 is still expected to be healthy, but the market remains focused on upcoming debt maturities which, until the company is able to put it behind, the stock will likely remain range bound." The Globe reported on Dec. 21, 2022, and Nov. 24, 2023, that Mr. Yaghi had reiterated his "sector outperform" call on Cineplex. The shares could then be had for $8.27 and $8.35. The Globe reported on Jan. 17, 2024, that National Bank Financial analyst Adam Shine had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Cineplex. The shares could then be had for $8.11.
