The Vancouver Sun reports in its Thursday edition that the crowds of Berkshire Hathaway fans are going to miss Charlie Munger's quips at the annual meetings in Omaha, Neb. A Bloomberg dispatch to The Sun says that Mr. Munger, who died Nov. 28 at 99, was the long-time business partner of Warren Buffett. The duo would banter on stage at Berkshire's shareholder event almost every year. His blunt style and deep knowledge made for witty one-liners that often stood in stark contrast to the folksier style of Mr. Buffett, 93. Mr. Munger often criticized people he thought were gambling. In 2011, he said the bubble in the United States leading up to the financial crisis was caused by a combination of "megalomania, insanity and evil" and offered some choice words for Alan Greenspan, saying there was too little oversight during his tenure as chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve. "Alan Greenspan is a smart man," he said. "He just totally overdosed on Ayn Rand at a young age." Years later, he criticized citizens of Greece for thinking they could vote themselves rich as their nation struggled with debt. He did not spare Wall Street, either. "What do you think a derivatives trading desk is? It's a casino in drag," he said in 2015.
