The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday edition that BMO Nesbitt Burns analyst Randy Ollenberger has boosted his recommendation for Birchcliff Energy to "outperform" from "market perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Ollenberger jacked his share target up by a loonie to $8.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $8.75. Mr. Ollenberger says in a note: "The company has been one of the best performing gas names in 2025, and we suspect there is more to come. We believe that Birchcliff Energy is better positioned than ever to achieve its 87.5 mboe/d growth target after years of delaying. Furthermore, we estimate material upside in its extensive Elmworth acreage that is unlikely appreciated in the current stock price. Lastly, Birchcliff Energy could be major beneficiary of a tighter NYMEX:AECO basis, which we see developing 2H/26." The Globe reported on Nov. 16, 2023, Mr. Ollenberger had reaffirmed his "market perform" recommendation for Birchcliff Energy. It was then worth $6.66. The Globe reported on July 1, 2025, that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Michael Harvey had reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Birchcliff Energy. The shares could then be had for $7.21.
