The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Oct. 3, edition that Stifel analyst Stephen Soock has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Bear Creek Mining. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Soock gave his share target a 70-cent trim to $1.10. Analysts on average target the shares at $1.07. Mr. Soock says in a note: "Bear Creek Mining announced $9.5-million bought deal financing though issuance of units at 35 cents including full warrant with five-year term and exercise price of 42 cents per share -- extremely onerous terms for a company with a producing asset. Bear Creek has amended its gold and silver streams with [Sandstorm Gold], with that company also consolidating and extending some debt. Bear Creek also granted a 1-per-cent NSR to [Sandstorm Gold] on its Corani silver project in Peru. While we had expected a weaker cost quarter in Q2, this financing shows the company in dire straits. We have updated our model for the new stream terms, equity dilution and weaker operating expectations for Q3. These bring down our NAV by 29 per cent to $1.22 per share." The Globe reported on Aug. 3, 2022, that BMO had reiterated its "outperform" recommendation for Bear Creek when it could be had for 66 cents.
