The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 25, edition that BMO Capital Markets analyst Devin Dodge has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Brookfield Business Partners. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Dodge bumped his unit target ahead by $2 to $30 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the units at $27.21. Mr. Dodge says in a note: "While the backdrop for the broader private equity industry remains somewhat challenging, we believe Brookfield Business Partners is well-positioned for many of the anticipated trends in 2024. We expect the emerging bifurcation in the private equity market to continue, with higher quality and operationally-focused firms performing well. Negative sentiment toward private equity from public market investors remains an overhang on valuation, but should ease as Brookfield Business progresses turnaround/profit improvement plans at its portfolio companies and advances certain capital recycling initiatives." The Globe reported on Aug. 9 that National Bank Financial analyst Jaeme Gloyn was sticking with his "outperform" call on Brookfield Business. The units could then be had for $17.42.
