The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Aug. 4, edition that Desjardins Securities analyst Benoit Poirier has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Bombardier. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Poirier cut his share target back by a loonie to $99. Analysts on average target the shares at $80. Mr. Poirier says in a note: "Bombardier reported mostly neutral 2Q results. Management's overall tone and messaging on the bizjet market remain positive, and we view the negative stock reaction as a buying opportunity. Over the coming years, Bombardier will continue deleveraging, which would likely lead to a bump in valuation. We remain bullish on the short- and long-term prospects for Bombardier." The Globe reported on May 26 that Citi rated Bombardier "buy." The Class B shares were then worth $56.08. The Globe reported on June 23 that Mr. Poirier had reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation and $100 share target for Bombardier. The shares could then be had for $60.41. The Globe reported on July 20 that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Walter Spracklin was keeping his "outperform" call on Bombardier intact. The shares could then be had for $59.78.
