The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Feb. 6, edition that BMO Capital Markets analyst Sohrab Movahedi has elevated his recommendation for Brookfield Asset Management to "outperform" from "market perform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Movahedi continues to target the shares at $58 (all figures U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $63.81. Mr. Movahedi says in a note: "Brookfield Asset Management's prospects for mid-teens distributable earnings growth are intact underpinned by continued fund raising momentum across strategies as well as fee rate and margin resiliency. We see an attractive risk-reward on Brookfield shares considering the implied 4-per-cent dividend yield (following the 15-per-cent increase announced Wednesday) is on par with 10-year U.S. bond yields vs. an average of 83 per cent since Brookfield's spin. Our implied target DE multiple represents a 30-per-cent premium to the S&P 500 (currently: 23 per cent; historical average: 37 per cent)." The Globe reported on Aug. 8, that Mr. Movahedi had reaffirmed his "market perform" recommendation for Brookfield. Its shares could then be had for $61.26.
