The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, March 1, edition that RBC Capital analyst Luke Davis continues to rate Athabasca Oil "outperform." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Davis increased his share target to $6 from $5.50. Analysts on average target the shares at $5.29. Mr. Davis says in a note: "Athabasca posted an in-line quarter with strong operational execution a key focal point. Management remains committed to shareholder returns, exceeding its target in 2023 with plans to exhaust the current NCIB, renew, and shift to 100-per-cent free cash return through 2024. We believe this is resonating with investors and while relatively expensive on current cash metrics, we believe the premium is warranted." The Globe reported on Sept. 14 that Stifel analyst Michael Dunn had commenced coverage on Athabasca Oil with a "buy" recommendation and $5 share target. The shares could then be had for $3.88. The Globe reported on Dec. 8 that Mr. Davis had elevated his recommendation for Athabasca Oil to "buy" from "hold." The shares could then be had for $3.79.
