The Globe and Mail reports in its Monday, Nov. 6, edition that top oil exporters Saudi Arabia and Russia confirmed on Sunday they would continue with their additional voluntary oil output cuts until the end of the year. A Reuters dispatch to The Globe reports that both countries said their cuts would be reviewed next month to consider extending, deepening or increasing them. An unnamed source says Saudi Arabia confirmed it would continue with its additional voluntary cut of one million barrels a day (b/d) translating into production of about nine million b/d for December. The source says, "This additional voluntary cut comes to reinforce the precautionary efforts made by OPEC+ countries with the aim of supporting the stability and balance of oil markets." After the Saudi statement, Moscow also announced it would continue its additional voluntary supply cut of 300,000 b/d from its crude oil and petroleum product exports until the end of December. OPEC+, which includes members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and leading allies including Russia, has been cutting output since last year in what it says is pre-emptive action to maintain market stability.
