The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Sept. 6, edition that ATB Capital Markets analyst Patrick O'Rourke has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. O'Rourke gave his share target a 50-cent boost to $5. Analysts on average target the shares at $4.29. Mr. O'Rourke says in a note: "Following the recent release of Alberta oil and gas public production data for the month of July, we are now reviewing individual company and asset level analysis for the month. In particular, Athabasca's cornerstone asset, Leismer, stood out to us as the only thermal oil sands asset reporting a new single-month production record in July, doing so on the back of notable production strength from the recently expanded pad L8." The Globe reported on April 18, 2023, that Mr. O'Rourke was sticking with his "outperform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. The shares could then be had for $3.50. The Globe reported on July 28 that RBC Capital analyst Luke Davis had reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. Its shares could then be had for $3.42.
