The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, July 28, edition that RBC Capital analyst Luke Davis has reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Davis gave his share target a 50-cent boost to $4. Analysts on average target the shares at $4.13. The Globe says Mr. Davis tweaked his share target on the back of strong operating performance in Athabasca Oil's latest quarter. Mr. Davis says in a note: "Athabasca posted an in-line quarter with Leismer ramping ahead of expectations. In our view, the thermal business has performed well this year with Leismer continuing to improve as new well-pairs come on-line. We expect this sets up well for 2024 with management likely to begin allocating incremental capital into the light oil business, driving moderate growth." The Globe reported on Nov. 4, 2022, Mr. Davis had reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. The shares were then worth $2.87. The Globe reported on April 18, 2023, that ATB Capital Markets analyst Patrick O'Rourke was sticking with his "outperform" recommendation for Athabasca Oil. The shares could then be had for $3.50.
