Mr. Victor Cantore reports
AMEX GOLD MINING COMPLETES PORTAL CONSTRUCTION AND COMMENCES UNDERGROUND RAMP DEVELOPMENT AT PERRON
Amex Gold Mining Inc. has completed the portal and the successful blasting of the first underground development round at its 100-per-cent-owned Perron gold project in Quebec.
The first ramp blast marks the official commencement of underground development at Perron and represents another important milestone in the advancement of the project.
With the portal construction now complete, Amex's underground mining contractor, CMAC-Thyssen, has begun development of the underground ramp. The current development program is designed to advance to a vertical depth of approximately 235 metres, providing access to the high-grade Champagne zone and supporting the company's planned 40,000-tonne bulk sample program.
The underground development program will progressively establish the infrastructure required to access the mineralized zone and complete the bulk sample. The 40,000-tonne bulk sample is intended to provide important information on mining conditions, grade continuity, dilution, reconciliation and metallurgical performance while further derisking the future development of Perron.
Victor Cantore, president and chief executive officer of Amex Exploration, commented: "With the portal complete, we are moving to on-schedule ramp development that will allow us to access the high-grade Champagne zone. The first blast of the underground ramp is a significant milestone for Amex. The portal and ramp are being built to production-scale specifications, supporting both the bulk sample and future mine development. This work will give our team direct underground access to the deposit and represents an important step in the continued advancement and derisking of Perron."
Over the coming months, underground development will continue toward the Champagne zone, with development progress expected to provide a series of operational milestones as the ramp advances at depth.
About Amex Gold Mining Inc.
Amex Gold Mining has made significant high-grade gold discoveries, along with copper-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) zones, at its 100-per-cent-owned Perron gold project. It is located in the territory of Valcanton in Northern Quebec, approximately 110 kilometres north of Rouyn-Noranda.
The Perron project in Quebec consists of 183 contiguous claims for a surface area of 65.72 square kilometres. The project hosts several zones of high-grade gold mineralization, VMS (volcanogenic massive sulphide) mineralization and hybrid gold-rich VMS mineralization.
When combined with the adjacent and contiguous Perron West project and Abbotsford and Hepburn projects (including additional claims acquired through staking) in Ontario, the consolidated land package spans a district-scale 570.94 square km. This extensive property lies within highly prospective geology favourable for both high-grade gold and VMS mineralization.
The project benefits from excellent infrastructure: it is accessible by a year-round road, located just 30 minutes from an airport and approximately 6.5 km from the town of Normetal. Being in close proximity to several processing plants owned by major gold producers also constitutes a strategic advantage.
