The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Jan. 25, edition that Canaccord Genuity analyst Cary MacRury has reaffirmed his "buy" recommendation for Altius Minerals. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. MacRury shaved his share target by a loonie to $24. Analysts on average target the shares at $22.06. Mr. MacRury issued his share-price tweak following the release of fourth quarter preliminary revenue that fell below his forecast. Mr. MacRury says in a note: "The difference is largely due to a lower-than-expected Q4 dividend from Labrador Iron Ore Royalty, lower base metal revenue on delivery lags from Chapada, and lower thermal coal revenue as the Genesee plant nears completion of its conversion to natural gas. Our 'buy' rating is based on Altius's low-risk royalty exposure high-quality royalty portfolio with long-life assets, upcoming potential catalysts, and proven management team." The Globe reported on Oct. 20 that BMO's Rene Cartier rated Altius Minerals "market perform." It was then worth $21.08. The Globe reported on Nov. 21 that Scotia Capital analyst Orest Wowkodaw reiterated his "sector perform" recommendation for Altius Minerals. The shares could then be had for $18.66.
