AURORA APPOINTS SEASONED BIOPHARMACEUTICAL EXECUTIVE TO LEAD COMMERCIAL ACCELERATION OF GLOBAL MEDICAL CANNABIS BUSINESS

Aurora Cannabis Inc. has appointed Faris El Refaie, a biopharmaceutical leader with 25 years of experience, as executive vice-president, global commercial, effective Sept. 28, 2026.

In this newly created role, Mr. El Refaie will oversee Aurora's global commercial function, with responsibility for furthering the company's medical cannabis market strategy, aligning its global portfolio, growing customer engagement, and accelerating commercial capabilities across Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other international markets as Aurora expands its global footprint.

Mr. El Refaie joins Aurora with extensive experience across highly regulated pharmaceutical organizations, spanning innovative medicines, oncology, specialty care, vaccines and consumer health care. He has held progressive leadership roles at JAMP Pharma Group, GSK and AstraZeneca, building deep commercial expertise across global markets including Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. Throughout his career, Faris has led commercial transformations, global product strategies and cross-functional teams, giving him the experience and perspective to help Aurora build on its strong foundation and unlock new opportunities across its international medical cannabis business.

Mr. El Refaie's appointment reflects Aurora's continued focus on strengthening its global commercial platform as the company expands its leadership across established and emerging international medical cannabis markets in service of Aurora's purpose of Opening the World to Cannabis.
