The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that Aurora Cannabis has been awarded a two-year contract to supply medical cannabis to the Italian government. A Reuters dispatch to The Globe says that the company will supply a minimum of 400 kilograms of medical cannabis to the country, one of the most strictly regulated medical cannabis markets in the world. Aurora said that it will supply cannabis from its Canadian EU GMP certified facilities and imported into Italy through Aurora Deutschland, its European unit. The supply contract is expected to be signed in September. Edmonton-based Aurora, which had won the first tender in Italy in January, 2018, said it will continue to supply medical cannabis to the country according to the contract. Investors were generally so-so on the news, driving the stock down 63 cents to close at $9.05 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
