The National Post reports in its Wednesday edition that Quebec Premier Francois Legault said Tuesday that efforts by the chief executive officer of Air Canada, Michael Rousseau, to learn French are paying off. The unbylined item says that he also welcomed news that Air Canada has agreed to subject itself to the francization rules of the Charter of the French Language. "I found he was good, he expressed himself well," Mr. Legault said, commenting on a one-on-one meeting he had Monday with Mr. Rousseau. "I can tell you Mr. Rousseau is taking [French] courses every day, each day he takes a class. I found his French has greatly improved. Plus I know he is married with a francophone." Mr. Legault would not say what percentage of their private meeting was in French. He described the Montreal-based airline's decision to follow the rules of the charter on the language of the workplace as positive.
