The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Oct. 23, edition that RBC analyst Harrison Reynolds anticipates a "mixed" third quarter earnings season for North American gold equities, with continued margin compression from lower gold prices but some offset from expected second-half production improvements. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Reynolds says in a note: "Several companies face material skews to Q4, raising execution sensitivity into year-end. Looking ahead, early 2027 budget indications present a key focus from our seat. Consensus capex and cost estimates for 2027 appear light, and we see risks of downward estimate revisions as companies provide directional guidance over the coming months. Producers remain in a strong financial position (largely net cash, returning record capital), but we see an outsized focus on execution to close out the year given widely guided 2H production improvements and potentially increasing emphasis on growth and M&A in the capital allocation mix." Mr. Reynolds has reaffirmed his "outperform" recommendation and $53 (U.S.) share target for Barrick Mining. Analysts on average target the shares at $52.20 (U.S.).
