The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Sept. 14, edition that BMO Capital analyst Jackie Przybylowski has reaffirmed her "outperform" recommendation for Barrick Gold. The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Ms. Przybylowski boosted her share target by $1 (U.S.) to a Street-high $30 (U.S.). Analysts on average target the shares at $22.91 (U.S.). Ms. Przybylowski says in a note: "Barrick presented [a] webinar to highlight the value of the projects in its existing portfolio, particularly those which management believes are undervalued by analysts and the market. Assets featured will support value-generating organic growth in both gold and copper. Will Barrick see full value from projects today? Webinar messaging around organic growth should provide a better understanding of direction, but may not be sufficient to unlock 'full' value. The market is likely to continue to apply a risk discount to longer-dated and more geopolitically risky projects." The Globe reported on July 19 that Citi analyst Alexander Hacking had reaffirmed his "neutral" recommendation and $20 (U.S.) share target for Barrick Gold. The shares were then going for $17.65 (U.S.).
