Mr. Patrick Laracy reports
VULCAN MINERALS INC. - STAKES NEW CLAIMS AT VOISEY'S BAY SOUTH
Vulcan Minerals Inc. has added 42 claims to its Voisey's Bay South project where Fjordland Exploration Inc. has rejuvenated exploration in the prospective Pants Lake intrusion. The Pants Lake mafic intrusive complex was first explored for nickel following the 1993 discovery of the Voisey's Bay nickel-copper-cobalt mine approximately 80 kilometres north. Several rounds of drilling and geophysics have established the intrusion's potential for significant accumulations of magmatic massive sulphides. Vulcan's new claims are strategically located in the northern portion of the intrusion in an area postulated to be down dip of some of the best historical drill results on the project. The claims are covered by a series of geophysical surveys (currently being reviewed). The company now holds 72 strategically located claims, including a land position proximal to the Sandy targets in the south portion of the intrusion where Fjordland completed a drilling program in late 2017.
Copper-gold projects
The company continues to evaluate the Springdale copper-gold results and Central Newfoundland gold results from the successful 2017 field season. This work is expected to fulfill all expenditure obligations on the projects and keep the claims in good standing pursuant to the regulatory requirements. Adjustments to the land positions will be made to reflect the company's better understanding of each property's mineral potential from the 2017 results. Exploration plans for 2018 are currently being formulated and partners are being solicited to advance the projects.
Red Moon Resources Inc.
Vulcan's subsidiary, Red Moon Resources, has provided an update on its industrial mineral developments on its website. Highlights include the environmental clearance for the development of its Ace gypsum deposit in western Newfoundland and positive initial geochemical results for its 2017 bulk sample of the Black Bay nepheline deposit in southern Labrador.
Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) convention
The company will be exhibiting at the PDAC convention from Sunday, March 4, 2018, to Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the investors exchange at the Metro Toronto
Convention Centre. Please come and visit the company at booth 2744 if you are attending the conference. The PDAC international convention is the world's premier mining investment convention for people, companies and organizations in or connected with mineral exploration.
