Controversial Victoria investment adviser Carolann Steinhoff has filed a counterclaim against her former employer, Wellington West Capital Inc., claiming the firm made her job overly miserable, with the aim of having her quit. She says that Wellington West removed her from her management position, placed her under close supervision and conducted an unfair investigation of her, among other things. The firm also solicited complaints from her clients, she says.

The allegations are contained in a counterclaim that Ms. Steinhoff filed on June 19, 2015, at the Vancouver courthouse. The defendants are Wellington West and National Bank Financial Ltd., which acquired Wellington West in 2011. Ms. Steinhoff worked at Wellington West from January, 2004, to June, 2009.
