IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE: VOLUNTARY RECALL OF PRESIDENT'S CHOICE ORGANICS PRIMAVERA PASTA SAUCE

Loblaw Companies Ltd. is pro-actively recalling select jars of President's Choice Organics Primavera pasta sauce with the UPC 0 6038369005 2 and expiration date Aug. 7, 2015, due to a risk that they may contain plastic pieces.

The product was sold between Oct. 20 and Oct. 24, 2014, at the following Loblaw banner stores:

Ontario:  Extra Foods, Fortinos, Freshmart, Loblaws, nofrills, Wholesale Club, Real Canadian Superstore, Valu-mart, Westfair, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and affiliated independent stores

Atlantic:   Dominion (in Newfoundland only), Freshmart, nofrills, Save Easy, Atlantic Superstore and affiliated independent stores

Although customers in Quebec and Western Canada may have purchased the product, only products in Ontario and Atlantic Canada may have been affected. For a complete list of stores please visit the company's website.

All potentially affected products have been removed from store shelves across the country. Loblaw has received no complaints associated with the product.

Customers can return the product to any Loblaw banner store and the customer service desk will provide a full refund (with or without receipt).

The company apologizes for any concern this recall may have caused. The health and safety of customers are paramount.
