Explorex plans first-phase fieldwork at Arlington

2015-05-22 12:46 ET - News Release

Mr. William Wishart reports

FIRST PHASE OF 2015 EXPLORATION PROGRAM TO COMMENCE ON THE ARLINGTON PROPERTY

Explorex Resources Inc. has plans for a first-phase exploration program on the company's 100-per-cent-owned Arlington property. The property is located 17 kilometres north of the community of Beaverdell and 67 kilometres south of the city of Kelowna, B.C., along British Columbia Provincial Highway 33 within the Greenwood mining division.

The 2015 exploration program is designed to evaluate 10 known, structurally controlled polymetallic silver-copper-lead-zinc-plus/minus-gold Minfile occurrences located on the property. The field program will consist of a geological mapping and sampling program of the mineralized occurrences, followed by magnetic and VLF (very low frequency) geophysical surveys, and a reconnaissance soil sampling program along the projected strike of the mineralized structures.

The Arlington property covers 586.46 hectares of land, is road accessible and is centred on Hall Creek at the south end of Arlington Lakes, and covers 10 mineral showings listed in the BCMEM (British Columbia Ministry of Energy and Mines) Minfile. The bulk of the historical work on the claims dates back to the early part of the century, while the Beaverdell Mt. Wallace mining camp was developing, and during the construction of the Kettle Valley Railway. Evidence of this early exploration activity is noted by the presence of numerous overgrown adits, shafts, trenches and pits scattered throughout the property. A 1973 channel sample of strongly silicified and epidotized chlorite hornblende schist returned 63.0 grams per tonne Ag and 0.92 per cent Cu over 0.6 metre, while a grab sample from the showing in 1987 returned up to 1.61 per cent Cu, 0.08 per cent Pb, 0.02 per cent Zn and 85.3 g/t Ag.

The Arlington property is located 14 km north of the historic Beaverdell silver mine, which is one of the oldest operating mines in Canada with near-continuous production between 1913 and 1991. Over this period, 1.3 million tonnes of ore were mined, producing nearly 34.6 million ounces of silver, along with lead, zinc, cadmium, copper and gold.

The Arlington property exploration program is being conducted under the supervision of qualified person Rick Kemp, PGeo.
