DEEP-SOUTH RESOURCES APPOINTS ROY AS DIRECTOR AND MONETTE RESIGNS FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Deep-South Resources Inc. has appointed Jean-Luc Roy as a director. Hugo Monette has resigned from the board of directors.
Mr. Roy has been a major contributor to the development of several important corporations in Africa during the last 30 years working for majors, mid-tiers and junior exploration companies.
He brings to Deep-South, as an independent director, a wealth of experience in all aspects of exploration from generating, negotiating, financing and managing projects, to corporate, community and governmental relations.
Mr. Roy's extensive exploration and mining company experience includes:
- Managing director of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (in the Democratic Republic of the Congo);
- President and chief executive officer
of El Nino Venture Inc., mainly focusing on the Democratic Republic of the Congo project acquisitions, financing and management;
- Chief operating officer of
Ampella Mining Ltd. (a division of Centamin PLC), supervising exploration and development of the projects in West Africa;

General manager of Resolute Mining Ltd., supervising all operations in Mali.
Mr. Roy is presently a director for Can Alaska Uranium, where he has served as audit comittee chairman and also on the compensation and corporate governance comittees.
