MR. JAY COLLINS ANNOUNCES EARLY WARNING REPORT FILING REGARDING SHAREHOLDINGS IN BANYAN GOLD CORP.

Further to disclosure requirements of applicable securities laws, Jay Collins, a director of Banyan Gold Corp., has acquired directly, through controlled affiliates, beneficial ownership of an additional 815,000 shares of Banyan for investment purposes. These shares were purchased through the facilities of the TSX Ventures Exchange on Oct. 16, 2014, at an average price of 1.635 cents. Prior to the acquisition of these shares, Mr. Collins held directly and indirectly 2,231,000 common shares of the company, which amounted to 15.4 per cent of the company's issued and outstanding shares, and 750,000 share purchase warrants exercisable at 10 cents until March 1, 2015. Following this transaction, Mr. Collins now owns directly, or has control or direction over, 3,046,000 shares, representing 21.03 per cent of the company's current 14,484,000 issued and outstanding common shares. He also owns 21 per cent of the company's outstanding share purchase warrants, which gives him a 24.92-per-cent control position on a fully diluted basis.
