Abraplata drills one m of 1,237 g/t Ag at Diablillos

2017-09-12 09:14 ET - News Release

Mr. Hernan Zaballa reports

ABRAPLATA INTERSECTS 1237G/T AG IN ONGOING DRILLING AT DIABLILLOS IN ARGENTINA

Abraplata Resource Corp. has intersected 168.5 grams per tonne silver over 29 metres (from 74 m to 104 m down the hole), including 707.0 g/t Ag over three m (from 79 m to 82 m) in which a single sample returned 1,237 g/t Ag over one m in continuing drilling at the Fantasma mineralized zone on its Diablillos property in northwestern Argentina. These results form part of the third batch of samples received from SGS laboratories for holes DDH-17-137 through DDH-17-142 and refer to hole DDH-17-142 which was collared 65 m due west of DDH-17-128 (the first hole of the current campaign and subject of news release dated Aug. 1, 2017); DDH-17-142 was angled at minus 60 degrees along an azimuth of 045 degrees.

Hole DDH-17-141, which was collared 30 m southwest of DDH-17-128 and was also angled at minus 60 degrees along an azimuth of 045 degrees, intersected 159.0 g/t Ag over eight m (from 53 m to 61 m), including a single sample that returned 519 g/t Ag over one m. Hole DDH-17-140, collared 50 m north of DDH-17-128, intersected 94.6 g/t Ag over 30 m (from 28 m to 58 m), including 243.7g/t Ag over three m (from 36 m to 39 m), and was angled at minus 50 degrees along an azimuth of 225 degrees. Hole DDH-17-137, collared about 150 m due east of hole DDH-17-128, was angled at minus 60 degrees along an azimuth of 225 degrees and intersected 208.2 g/t Ag over 19 m (from 62 m to 81 m down the hole), including 382.0 g/t Ag over seven m (from 69 m to 76 m) in which a single sample returned 622 g/t Ag over one m. Holes DDH-17-138 and DDH-017-139 encountered zones of alteration but did not intersect any significant mineralization.

"We are extremely pleased that the results from the lab continue to build a picture of a spatially coherent body of mineralization at Fantasma," commented Abraplata's executive chairman, Hernan Zaballa. "Moreover, the data received to date suggest that a core of mineralization, grading in the region of 100 to 200 g/t Ag, underlies the lower-grade zone of mineralization of some 30 to 60 g/t Ag intersected closer to surface in the upper part of previously reported holes northwest of reference hole DDH-17-128."

Sampling procedures and quality control protocols

Abraplata applies industry standard exploration methodologies and techniques, and all drill core samples are collected under the supervision of the company's geologists in accordance with industry practices. Drill core is transported from the drill platform to the logging facility where drill data are compared and verified with the core in the trays. Thereafter, it is logged, photographed and split by diamond saw prior to being sampled. Samples are then bagged and quality control materials are inserted at regular intervals; these include blanks and certified reference materials as well as duplicate core samples which are collected in order to measure sample representivity. Groups of samples are then placed in large bags which are sealed with numbered tags in order to maintain a chain of custody during the transport of the samples from the project site to the laboratory.

All samples are received by the SGS offices in Salta which then dispatches the samples to the SGS preparation facility in San Juan. From there, the prepared samples are sent to the SGS laboratory in Lima, Peru, where they are analyzed. All samples are analyzed using a multielement technique consisting of a four-acid digestion followed by ICP/AES detection, and gold is analyzed by 50-gram fire assay with an AAS finish. Silver results greater than 100 g/t are reanalyzed using four-acid digestion with an ore grade AAS finish.

An independent party has been appointed to review and report on the quality assurance/quality control program at the project.
