The Financial Post reports in its Thursday edition the Pepsi Challenge is returning, and UrtheCast ($1.99) is part of it. The Post's Nicholas Misketi
writes in its new incarnation, the Pepsi Challenge will showcase new ways of viewing different areas of pop culture such as technology, sports, music and the design of the Pepsi brand.
For UrtheCast, the collaboration with Pepsi will provide good exposure for tech company, which has plans to launch its social media Web platform later this year.
Salman Partner's Daniel Wong issued a speculative buy recommendation for UrtheCast and a target of $2.75 a share.
"It unlocks a very large market for UrtheCast,"
said Mr. Wong. UrtheCast, which has developed a video camera to take near real-time video of Earth from space, will film the first "epic-film adventure" for the Pepsi campaign's technology challenge.
The tech company has installed two of its video cameras aboard the International Space Station. Mr. Wong said the video technology and Web platform may create new branding partnership opportunities for UrtheCast.
One opportunity is for UrtheCast to highlight where all the Starbucks are in a particular city, saving consumers time in the search for those hard-to-find outlets.
