Mr. Scott Larson reports
URTHECAST SIGNS SIX NEW DATA DISTRIBUTORS
UrtheCast Corp. has signed six new
data distributors for its high-resolution Earth video and imagery. This
ultra HD colour video and medium-resolution imagery will be captured
from UrtheCast's two cameras -- a one-metre-class, full-colour video camera
and a five-metre-class, still-imagery camera -- aboard the International
Space Station.
The details are as follows:
- Six new data distributors: one based in the Middle East and five in
Europe;
-
These new distributor agreements have minimum revenue
commitments of $5-million per year, which distributors must meet in
order to retain their respective licences and territorial rights to
UrtheCast's imagery;
-
Including these new distributors, UrtheCast's data distribution
agreements total 16 distributors, representing minimum commitments of
$26 million per year.
"The signing of these six distributors clearly demonstrates the market's
strong interest in high-resolution, colour video of Earth from space.
This is something that only UrtheCast's video camera can provide,"
explained UrtheCast's president and chief operating officer, Wade
Larson. "In addition to the interest in colour video from space, the
unique characteristics of the ISS orbit positions UrtheCast's data
offering as complementary to more traditional Earth observation
satellites."
