FURA WELCOMES ROBERTO SCHRADER TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fura Emeralds Inc. has appointed Roberto Schrader to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Mr. Schrader brings extensive experience in the Colombian engineering and construction sector to the Fura board of directors, having held various executive and managerial positions in Colombia and internationally. Mr. Schrader also has experience in the mining sector as a former partner of a geological prospecting company in Colombia. Mr. Schrader holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University, a master of business administration from the Rotterdam School of Management and a specialization in finance from the Universidad de los Andes.

The appointment of Mr. Schrader follows the resignation of Julian Garcia as a member of the board of directors of the company. The board and management of Fura thank Mr. Garcia for his contributions to the company and wish him well in his future endeavours.

Pursuant to Mr. Schrader's appointment, he has been granted a total of 150,000 stock options. The options have an exercise price of 17.5 cents and shall expire five years from the date of grant. The grant of options remains subject to approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
