Farallon Mining Ltd. has filed an application in the Supreme Court of British Columbia seeking a "substantial award of damages" against Stockhouse poster Ronald Arnold. The company says that Mr. Arnold, who has already admitted liability for a series of defamatory posts, inflicted a serious blow to its reputation when he accused the company of improperly acquiring the Campo Morado property in Mexico. While the company has not specified a dollar amount for damages, it points to a prior decision in which a judge ordered Edmonton resident Robert Butler to pay $425,000 for posts about Campo Morado.

Farallon is seeking the damages over a series of Stockhouse postings that Mr. Arnold created using the alias "Stonecut." Among other things, he wrote that the company had acquired Campo Morado using documents forged by a Mexican lawyer. The transaction resulted in Farallon paying nothing to Campo Morado's original owner, David Hermiston, the posts stated.

Mr. Arnold initially denied any wrongdoing, arguing that his posts were fair comment based on true facts. He said that he had pulled much of his information from court filings in Mexico. He later admitted liability for the posts and agreed to pay damages in an amount that the judge would assess.

Outrageous bullying by the courts. Beyond the handful of people who read Spamhouse, er, Stockhouse, nobody even knew about the comments. And from what I've read, they have basis in fact and not bald faced lies. Canadian "justice" wrt to libel is a joke.

LEGAL ACTION INITIATED IN RESPECT TO THE SANTO TOMAS COPPER PROJECT, SINALOA, MEXICO

David Hermiston, Aztec Copper, et al named as defendants. Can Wally Boguski be far behind. I hear he is pounding the pavement trying to drum up money for this project, even as the lawsuit looms. Classy.
